Yesterday was my 73rd birthday and thanks to my dear family and friends it was a wonderful day. There was one little wrinkle in the day however and that was my needing to go to visit Dr. Bhatt cuz I was having some serious breathing problems. After a breathing treatment, a shot of Kenalog in my butt and starting on Prednisone last night I'm feeling like a different person. God is Good and so is Prednisone.
I came across this little poem that tickeled my funny bone so I'm sharing it here with you. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do but if you don't . . . just remember . . . someday you will.
WALKING CAN ADD MINUTES TO YOUR LIFE
This enables you at 85 years old
to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing
home at $7000 per month.
My grandpa started walking
five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he's 97 years old
and we don't know where he is.
I like long walks,
especially when they are taken
by people who annoy me.
The only reason I would take up walking
is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.
I have to walk early in the morning,
before my brain figures out what I'm doing.
I joined a health club last year,
spent about 400 bucks.
Haven't lost a pound.
Apparently you have to go there.
Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise',
I wash my mouth out with chocolate.
I do have flabby thighs,
but fortunately my stomach covers them.
The advantage of exercising every day
is so when you die, they'll say,
'Well, she looks good doesn't she.'
If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
start with a small country.
I know I got a lot of exercise
the last few years . . . just getting over the hill.
We all get heavier as we get older,
because there's a lot more information in our heads.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
AND
Every time I start thinking too much
about how I look,
I just find a Happy Hour
and by the time I leave,
I look just fine.

I'm in heaven . . . my Embarq highspeed connection is up and running and the angels are singing in my ears. Wish I would have gotten much sooner. Another happy ending with my TV set.
After hearing from several of you and others that I didn't have to have HD to use my new TV. I went online to the DirectTV website and found the directions for programming the remote. WaaLaa it worked. Another happy ending.
More piccies of my coffee plants and plumeria to share. Click on the thumbnail to see the bigger one.
Tiny pinky reddish flowers appeared on both plants last week.
The little blooms have turned into tiny green pumpkins.
No flowers yet but the plumeria is growing nicely too.
Tranquility - my favorite garden sign.
I'm still spending the major part of my puter time tending my farms on FaceBook. My FarmTown and FarmVille farms are the ones that get most of my attention and they are coming along quite nicely even if I do say so myself. It's fun meeting up with all my friends over at the farms but I have to do better with my blog. I'm off to make a few visits before I have to leave for my volunteer time at Samaritan's Touch. Until next time . . . God bless.

Has it really been almost a week since my last post. I really thought I would do much better than that but playing at FarmTown is just so much fun I can't resist spending most of time there. The latest new friends to join us are Sally of Heartfelt Graphics and Susan from Grandma's Attic. They are both wonderful additions to our group. Enough about that.
A while back I think I mentioned that my old bedroom TV and cordless phone both died and needed to be replaced. The phone I replaced almost immediately but the not the TV cuz I wasn't sure what to get. On Friday, after my month-long boycott of WalMart, I went shopping there and found the perfect flatscreen TV with a built-in CD player for the bedroom. I had trouble getting it programmed so I called DirectTV and found out that I don't have a HD receiver and can't use an HD TV unless I upgrade to a HD receiver for the small one time charge of $100 and an additional monthly charge of $10.00. Yikes! Guess I do w/o TV in the bedroom for a while.
My coffee plants have blossoms now so maybe I'll get some coffee beans sometime soon. I'm having connection problems with WiFi almost every evening so I'm making the switch over to Embarq Hi-Speed Internet. WiFi is nice don't get me wrong and a bargain at $10.00 a month but it's just so unreliable and the downtime is getting to be longer than the uptime so I think it's time to change. I should get the equipment I need on Friday and start the new service after 7 p.m. on the same day. Hopefully, I'll be happier with Embarq.
I'm gonna hope my connection holds long enough to upload this entry and make some visits. Until later . . . God bless.

It's a gorgeous summer day here today. The sun is sparkling today, there's a light breeze out of the southwest and the sky is just about as blue as I've ever seen it. Hope your day is as beautiful as mine.
It's a sad day for those who are Michael Jackson fans. He was a strange, talented young man who died way too young. He will be truly missed. His memorial in LosAngeles today will celebrate his life not mourn his death. Hopefully, it will help heal his loss.
Dahli is at the groomer's as I write this so it's a perfect time for me to get ready for tonight's monthly potluck at the West Clubhouse. I'm making something called cheesy potatoes. I found the recipe on a package of * Simply Potatoes * hash browns. I like this brand because the potatoes are refrigerated but never frozen.
Anyway, the dish is easy to make cuz it's just mixing the potatoes with shredded cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, a few chopped onions and melted butter. Top it with cushed corn flakes and bake it. Yummy and easy to make. We'll play cardBingo after dinner so that should be fun.
A nice surprise on the 4th of July when my neighbors, Trudy and Shan showed up at their house. They just couldn't stay away. They plan to stay for 3 weeks and I must say I'm very happy to have them here. It gets pretty quiet with just Joyce and I on our street. I think I'm missing my winter friends already. Makes me hope that September comes soon. Just kidding!
It will soon be time to go pick up Dahli. Lora was sad to hear about how sick Dahli had been. She promised to be extra gentle with her today. I'll be around to visit when I get home. Until then . . . God bless.

Happy 4th of July. Hope your holiday is filled with lots of good food and fireworks.
Instead of a cookout, a group of us that coffee at Joyce's are ordering out today. We'll be feasting on baby back ribs, baked potatoes, baked beans, onion rings and cole slaw from Woody's. Yummy! A small dish of ice cream after dinner would taste good too!
Mickey and I ate at Ruby Tuesday's yesterday evening. I had the crab cake with mashed potatoes and broccoli with raspberry ice tea to wash it down. Everything was absolutely delicious. The price was right too cuz we had a 2 for 1 coupon. The check came to $21.00 including the tip. Pretty good, huh? Enough outta me. Today is a good day to stay off the computer and enjoy our families and friends so until next time . . . God bless America!!

It's a Good News day! Our sunshine has finally returned and the rains of the last few days are now just a memory.
Warm Happy Birthday Wishes Claudia, our dear sweet friend from up there in the North. Hope you have a fabulous day. Wish you had gotten the day off from work but I suspect that Tony will see to it that you have a dee-licious dinner and lovely giftie when you get home.
Our dear friend, * Judy * is back after being gone for a very long time. We found out the reason for her absence is the death of her brother. My sincere condolences to Judy and her family. So glad that you are feeling strong enough to be back with us. Please know that you and and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Time for me to get dressed for Nite Out with the Girls. I'll be around to visit this evening. Until then . . . God bless!

Happy month of July. Hope the weather improves for me and you too. Here in central Florida we have sunshine but Tampa to our West was under storm, flooding and tornado warnings this morning. Hopefully, their weather will improve as the day progresses.
On a happier note, I finally reached Level 25 at FarmTown. Here's the proof.

Thanks to Andy, I have some new additions in my garden. To me they are on the exotic side so I'm not sure how well I will do with them. We'll just wait and see. I took some piccies of them this morning to share. The first pix is of a plumeria plant which is popular because of the wonderful perfume we get from it's flowers and the lovely lei's they make from the very same blooms. Andy sent a * link * to a website with some good instructions so I'll be consulting it frequestly, that's for sure.
The second pix is of 2 coffee plants. Wouldn't it be a hoot if someday I could grind the beans and make a pot of coffee? No instructions for these guys so I'll have to Google to see if I can find something. OK here's the piccies.
 Plumeria
 2 Coffee Plants
 Red Hat Ladies Planter
Today is my day at Samaritan's Touch so if I don't have time to visit today I'll make up for it tomorrow. Hope the week is going well for you. Until next time . . . God bless.

I think this email is just about the most perfect way to end the month of June so I'm sharing it here with YOU.
ONCE YOU LET THEM GO, YOU CAN'T GET THEM BACK SO I' M GOING TO TIE YOU TO MY HEART SO I NEVER LOSE YOU.
SEND THE POEM BELOW TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS INCLUDING ME! SEE HOW MANY YOU GET BACK...
Well, here is the cure... just smile and say...
Dear Lord,
I know you're watching over me
And I'm feeling truly blessed
For no matter what I pray for
You always know what's best!
I have this circle of E-mail friends,
Who mean the world to me;
Some days I 'send' and 'send,'
At other times, I let them be.
I am so blessed to have these friends,
With whom I've grown so close;
So this little poem I dedicate to them,
Because to me they are the 'Most'!
When I see each name download,
And view the message they've sent;
I know they've thought of me that day,
And 'well wishes' were their intent.
So to you, my friends, I would like to say,
Thank you for being a part;
Of all my daily contacts,
This comes right from my heart.
God bless you is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you 'friend';
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until we write again.
